Sochaux picks up the draw at Metz 1-1

The Sochaliens raised the head at the leader messin, after their disappointment at home last week (0-4 against Nancy). The Lionceaux resisted the assault of the locals (72% possession for Metz, 22 shots with 9 target shots against 7 and 2 target shots for Sochaux).

In the first half, Sofiane Daham takes back a corner pulled by Mollo but the ball goes on the the goalpost at 15 minutes of play. On the following action, Metz is close to opening the score, when Renaud Cohade controls and then tries the lob on Prévot. The goalpost again saves the Sochaliens. In a pleasant period, Nguette tries a superb bycicle shoot but the ball crashes on the angle of the goal at the 34th. Both teams are back to back at break 0-0.

In the second half, Daham received a second yellow card for a sole at the 68th and left his teammates. Moments later Ruiz touches the ball with his hand in the surface on a corner kick and causes the penalty, achieved by Habib Diallo. Two successive hits for Sochaux, but on a free-kick from Mollo in the 80th, Boye in turn hit the ball with his hand and offered a penalty to the Sochalians. Rafa Navarro scored the penalty for equalization and the final score 1-1. A game in which Momo Sissoko played for an hour.

Sochaux is 18th of Ligue 2 with 26 points, 3 points from Nancy 17th. Next match on Friday, March 15th at 20:00 against Troyes.
